This summer at Straitgate College (SGC) was one to remember! Through our Summer Skills Program 2025, students spent their holiday immersed in exciting activities that combined fun, creativity, and hands-on learning.
The program was designed to help students discover hidden talents, nurture practical abilities, and build confidence outside the traditional classroom. Over the weeks, they engaged in sewing and knitting, cooking and baking, and other handy skill trainings that encouraged both creativity and self-reliance. For the more technically inclined, sessions on basic automobile work and mechanical skills provided an eye-opening introduction to engineering concepts in real life.
Of course, summer wouldn’t be complete without fun! Students enjoyed a variety of games, arena challenges, and sports competitions, creating moments of laughter, teamwork, and friendly rivalry. These experiences strengthened bonds among classmates and helped them grow as well-rounded individuals.
Parents praised the initiative for keeping students constructively engaged while also equipping them with life skills they can use well into the future. The balance of practical skills and recreational activities made this year’s program both impactful and unforgettable.
At SGC, we remain committed to “Building a generation for God”—and this summer, we took another step forward by empowering our students to dream, create, and excel beyond the classroom.
