Straitgate High School / College successfully held their much-anticipated Inter-House Sports Competition on Saturday, 7th February 2026, bringing together students, staff, parents, and invited guests for a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, and excellence.

The event, which took place in a lively and well-coordinated atmosphere, showcased the athletic talents, discipline, and competitive spirit of students across all houses. From track and field events to novelty races, participants demonstrated determination, resilience, and enthusiasm, thrilling spectators throughout the day.

The programme commenced with an opening prayer, followed by the national anthem and school songs. This set the tone for a day filled with energy, unity, and healthy competition. Highlights of the event included the march past, cheerleading displays, parents’ carnival activities, and the lighting of the Torch of Unity, symbolizing friendship and fair play among the houses.

Parents and guests turned out in large numbers to support the students, adding colour and excitement to the event. The presence and encouragement of the school community further reinforced Straitgate Schools’ commitment to holistic education developing not just academic excellence, but physical fitness, leadership, and character.

At the end of the competition, outstanding athletes and houses were recognised and rewarded for their exceptional performances. Regardless of results, all participants were celebrated for their sportsmanship and teamwork.
