It was a colourful and joy-filled day at Straitgate Schools, Forthright Magboro, as our pupils came beautifully dressed in their native attires to celebrate Nigeria’s Independence Day. The event was a vibrant display of patriotism, culture, and gratitude to God for our beloved nation.
From the early hours of the morning, excitement filled the air as children arrived in stunning traditional outfits representing the diverse ethnic groups of Nigeria Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Tiv, Efik, and more. The school grounds came alive with songs, dances, recitations, and creative performances that reflected the pride and unity of our great nation.
Teachers and pupils alike participated in fun cultural activities, patriotic songs, and storytelling sessions that reminded everyone of Nigeria’s journey to freedom and the importance of peace, love, and unity. The celebration was both educational and inspiring helping our pupils appreciate the beauty of our diversity and the blessings of being Nigerians.
As a Christian school, we also took time to thank God for His faithfulness over our country and to pray for continued peace, progress, and righteous leadership in the land.
At Straitgate Schools, we believe in raising children who are proud of their identity, grounded in godly values, and committed to making positive contributions to their nation.
