The atmosphere at Straitgate Nursery & Primary School, Magodo was bursting with colour, rhythm, and joy as our pupils, parents, and teachers came together to celebrate Cultural Day 2025 a vibrant showcase of Nigeria’s rich heritage and unity in diversity!
From the moment the gates opened, the school grounds came alive with the sights and sounds of traditional music, dances, and fashion from across the nation. Pupils proudly represented various ethnic groups, dressed in stunning attires that reflected the beauty of Nigeria’s many cultures — Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Efik, Tiv, and more.
Each class participated in cultural performances that told stories of community, respect, and faith. There were traditional dances, drama sketches, folk songs, and even food displays featuring local delicacies lovingly prepared by parents. The joy on every child’s face was a testament to the pride we share in our roots and values.
Beyond the colourful costumes and performances, the day served as an important reminder that God made us all unique, yet united in His purpose. At Straitgate, we celebrate not just culture, but the godly virtues of love, respect, and togetherness that bind us as one family.
We are grateful to our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and wonderful pupils who made this year’s celebration such a memorable one. Indeed, it was a day to cherish, a day of learning, laughter, and love for God and country.
At Straitgate Schools, we remain committed to building a generation for God; confident in identity, strong in values, and proud of heritage.
